During the week, the Blues drew 1-1 with Brighton but just as concerning as the result was the injuries suffered by both Reece James and Andreas Christensen.
James was withdrawn with a hamstring problem, while Christensen has hurt his back.
Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell were already missing, with the latter set to undergo surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament.

Thiago Silva missed the Brighton game due to a thigh problem, but that seems to have been a precautionary measure rather than due to the severity of an injury, so the influential Brazilian may be passed fit for such a crucial game against Liverpool.
Edouard Mendy will start in goal in behind a likely back four or Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.
With James missing, that should see Azpilicueta move into the right wing-back role in place of Chrisian Pulisic, who might drop to the bench.
Marcos Alonso is the only real option on the left, while N'Golo Kante and Jorginho should start in midfield.
This week Romelu Lukaku gave an astonishing interview in which he criticised the tactics of Tuchel before indicating a desire to return to Inter. Normally, in this situation a player may be exiled by the manager, but it is up to Tuchel as to whether he wants his record signing in place for this important match.
