Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is expected to male several changes for the game against Newcastle, as he bids to turn around the 2-1 defeat to Villarreal next week in the Europa League.

The Gunners went down 2-1 in Spain, but did score a vital away goal, as Nicolas Pepe slotted home from the spot.

Arteta is then expected to make several changes in view of overturning the deficit, and so for the game against Newcastle, changes will be made.

Hector Bellerin is expected to come into the starting line-up, whilst David Luiz could also be handed his first start in two months after returning to full fitness.

Mohamed Elneny could also be handed a rare start in midfield for Arsenal, with Thomas Partey due to be rested. Dani Ceballos could keep his place given he is suspended for the second leg with Villarreal after being sent off in the second half.

Cedric Soares and central defender Gabriel are also in line to play from the beginning for The Gunners.

In midfield, Granit Xhaka is thought to be favourite to partner Elneny in the pivot for Arsenal.

Arteta will field a youthful attacking trio, in the shape of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe.

Saka started in the semi final first leg on Thursday, and played a major role in Arsenal's away goal, as he won the penalty that Pepe dispatched.

Pepe is expected to drop to the bench for the game, as is Martin Odegaard.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to start, as he makes his way back to full fitness after suffering from malaria.

Alexander Lacazette could also feature at some point in the game, as could winger Willian, who came off the bench against Villarreal.
