England welcome Finland to Wembley for their next UEFA Nations League match before the domestic seasons pick up again at the weekend, with Lee Carsley looking to keep up his 100% record after an impressive win against Ireland at the weekend.

Match Preview

England

England Recent Form

As mentioned, England come into this fixture on the back of a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland, marking a solid start under caretaker manager Lee Carsley.

The Three Lions are second in their group, only behind Greece on goal difference. Their form in all competitions has been strong, with just their loss in the Euro 2024 final in their last six outings being their only blip.

England Injury News

There are no new injury concerns for England, with Harry Kane set to make his 100th international appearance.

Carsley is expected to field a fairly similar lineup to the one that secured victory in Dublin, including key players like Jack Grealish and Bukayo Saka.

Finland

Finland Recent Form

Finland are struggling, coming off a 3-0 defeat to Greece. They are now winless in their last three games, and have conceded multiple goals in each of their last four away fixtures.

This poor form leaves them at the bottom of their group and facing an uphill battle.

Finland Injury News

Finland’s injury problems worsened with midfielder Rasmus Schuller limping off against Greece, and Kaan Kairinen ruled out before the match. Coach Markku Kanerva may have to reshuffle his team with Urho Nissila expected to step in.

Players To Watch

England Player To Watch

Harry Kane, poised to make his 100th appearance, will be key in leading the attack. His experience and clinical finishing make him a pivotal figure.

Finland Player To Watch

Teemu Pukki, Finland’s talismanic striker, will need to rediscover his goal-scoring form if Finland are to pose any sort threat to England.

Prediction

England are clear favourites, and with Finland’s defensive frailties, a comfortable 3-0 win for the Three Lions seems likely.

We expect England to dominate possession and create several chances, while Finland’s attack could struggle to break down a solid English defence.
