Thomas Muller will be recalled to the Germany international team by Joachim Low, according to the opinion of Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness.
Muller has been controversially frozen out of duty for the nation side since the spring of 2019, when it was announced by Low that he, Mats Hummel and Jerome Boateng would not be considered for action.
Germany, though, have been going through an uncharacteristically difficult spell. This came to a head in November when they were routed 6-0 by Spain.
Now Hoeness believes that Low will have no choice but to bow to popular opinion and recall the in-form Muller, who has nine goals and nine assists for Bayern in 18 matches this season.
“I’m convinced from the discussions that we’re having, Muller will be one of those that Jogi Low will not do without in the spring,” he told Blickpunkt Sport.
“With the form Thomas is in now, it is a win for every side.”

Low is due to address the media later on Monday, when he is expected to make an announcement on Muller’s future.
The 31-year-old, who has spent his entire career with Bayern, has enjoyed success with the national team. He has played exactly 100 times for Germany and has scored 38 times, while he was a member of the side that lifted the 2014 World Cup.
Low gave Muller his debut back in 2010 and despite playing only two matches prior to the World Cup in South Africa that year he was given a prominent role in the side. Indeed, with five goals, he finished as the joint top scorer and won the Golden Boot by dint of the three assists he claimed.
When it was announced in 2019 that he would not be considered for international duty, Muller said he was “angry and surprised” by Low’s decision.
